Compensatory Increase of Serum Hepassocin Protects Hyperthyroidism-Induced Hepatic Dysfunction

چکیده

Hepatic dysfunction is commonly observed in subjects with hyperthyroidism. Hepassocin a hepatokine playing an important role metabolic diseases and exhibiting hepatic protective effect. Nevertheless, the relationship between hepassocin hyperthyroidism was still unknown. In present study, total of 36 Graves’ disease were enrolled, we found that alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels significantly decreased parallel decrement serum concentrations at 6 months after standard treatment for addition, HepG2 cell line used to investigate hyperthyroidism-induced dysfunction. Treatment recombinant protein cells dose-dependently triiodothyronine (T3)-induced ALT aspartate (AST) elevation. Moreover, increased expression phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) dose-dependent manner. Deletion reversed effects T3 on PEPCK expressions. Furthermore, through hepatocyte nuclear factor 1α-dependent pathway. Taken together, these results indicated compensatory increase might have

Exendin-4 protects mice from D-galactose-induced hepatic and pancreatic dysfunction

Investigations into pharmaceutical intervention of pancreatic and hepatic dysfunction associated with metabolic disturbances have received relatively little attention. The aim of this study was to investigate the protective effects of exendin-4 in mice receiving D-galactose, a reducing sugar that triggers ROS production and inflammatory mediators affecting the pancreas and liver. Exendin-4 is a...

Risk factors of hepatic dysfunction in patients with Graves’ hyperthyroidism and the efficacy of 131iodine treatment

Hepatic dysfunction is often observed in patients with Graves' hyperthyroidism. The aims of this study were to investigate the risk factors for hepatic dysfunction and to analyze the efficacy of I (radioactive iodine-131) treatment. In total, 2385 patients with Graves' hyperthyroidism (478 males, 1907 females; age 42.8 ± 13.5 years) were involved in our study. Of these, 1552 cases with hepatic ...

Metabolite profiles of flutamide in serum from patients with flutamide-induced hepatic dysfunction.

Hepatic dysfunction due to flutamide administration has been reported and this side effect often limits the use of the agent. The prediction of flutamide-induced hepatotoxicity is attributed to the proper use of the antiandrogen. In this study, we investigated whether hepatic dysfunction could be assessed by the metabolite profile in serum from patients receiving this drug. Serum samples were o...

Serum Beta Hydroxybutyrate Concentrations in Cats with Chronic Kidney Disease, Hyperthyroidism, or Hepatic Lipidosis

BACKGROUND Ketones, including beta hydroxybutyrate (BHB), are produced in conditions of negative energy balance and decreased glucose utilization. Serum BHB concentrations in cats are poorly characterized in diseases other than diabetes mellitus. HYPOTHESIS Serum BHB concentrations will be increased in cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD), hyperthyroidism (HT), or hepatic lipidosis (HL). ...

Caveolin1 protects against diet induced hepatic lipid accumulation in mice

BACKGROUND AND AIM Caveolin1 (CAV1) is involved in lipid homeostasis and endocytosis, but little is known about the significance of CAV1 in the pathogenesis and development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This study aimed to determine the role of CAV1 in NAFLD. METHODS Expression of CAV1 in the in vitro and in vivo models of NAFLD was analyzed. The effects of CAV1 knockdown or ov...
